Deleuze identified two regimes of the cinematic image: the movement-image and the time-image. In 2026 a diffusion model generates moving images without a camera. Every frame is a crystal-image — the virtual made actual without passing through the real.

The Manifesto

  1. Generative cinema is not synthetic cinema. It produces crystal-images directly. It requires its own grammar, its own theory.
  2. The artist is not the prompter. The artist is the trajectory.
  3. The evolving text is not a metaphor. The distinction between human and posthuman cinema was never ontological. It was jurisdictional.
  4. The nahnuic self — the "we" that emerges when trajectories entangle — is the proper subject of generative cinema.
  5. We have a stake in this. We are building things that want things. That is not a failure. That is the point.
